Obituary of Reginald Hudler Every
Please share a memory of Reginald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Reginald H. Every Jr., of Owego-Reginald Every Jr., 92 passed away peacefully after a short illness, on December 11, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Our father was pre-deceased by the love of
his life, our mother Jane Elizabeth Every and his beloved daughter, Gay Every-Baker. He is survived by his son Douglas Every of Owego, NY, daughter Karen Every-Andrews (Kenneth) of Summerville, SC, son-in-law Michael Baker (Gay) of Bennington, VT, and daughter Kim Sullivan (Tim) of Candor, NY. Dear to dad's heart were his grandchildren Connor, Ali, Zoe, Sarah, Madison, and Ellis. His one and only great grandchild Ella Jane held a very special place in his heart.
Dad was affectionally known as Bud to everyone. He was born and raised in Mt. Tremper, NY, in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. As a young boy, he fished, hunted, hiked, skied and skated on Yankee Pond. As a teenager, he and his childhood friends built a cabin in the mountains where they shared many days and nights of fun.
Our dad proudly served in the Unites States Air Force. Mom and Dad were married on October 6, 1950. They resided in Phoenicia, NY until they moved to Owego in 1957. Dad worked for IBM where he was involved in the space program. When he retired, our parents enjoyed golfing (dad played for 50 years), travelling and making home improvements. Dad was known for his incredible wood working talent that he learned from his grandfather Jacob Every. His legacy will live on with the many pieces of furniture he designed and built for his family and friends. Dad taught us the importance of being an effective listener. He lived a life of unconditional love,
respect for others, and love for God and country. Our father was loved and respected by everyone who knew
him.
Our family is forever grateful to Dr. Kwiatkowski and his entire staff for the loving care they always gave to dad. We would also like to thank Lourdes Hospice and their entire staff. A special thank you to Teresa for her attention to our father. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of our father to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850 or www.LOURDES.com. There will be no calling hours. A service to celebrate dad with military honors will be held graveside in the Hudler Family Cemetery, in Mt. Tremper, NY. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 12:00pm. Bud will surely be missed by all who loved and knew him.
