Obituary of Lance Reid Seamon
Please share a memory of Lance to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lance Reid Seamon, 63, of Owego Street, Candor, NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 27, 2014. He was born in Ithaca, NY on July 29, 1951, the son of Gerald E. and Ellen Lorraine Seamon. Lance is survived by his wife, Priscilla Zamoiski; daughter, Amy Jo (Joseph) Thomas; son, Bill Edwards; grandchildren, Caitlin, McKayla and Joseph Thomas; great grandson, Landon Reid Thomas; sister, Sherrill Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. Lance attended the diesel tech program at Alfred State College and spent the majority of his career in the trucking industry as an independent owner-operator, initially driving cross-country and later working with various lumber mills. Lance enjoyed many miles on the road doing what he did best - being a people person and developing the personal relationships which came so naturally to him. After over a million miles on the road, he retired from trucking to become the proprietor of Unfound Treasures, an antique and collectibles store that in itself reflects Lance’s unique character and zeal for the fun things in life. In his teenage years Lance raced go-carts, traveling with his parents to tracks throughout the northeast. Unable to resist anything mechanical or motorized, he continued to enjoy many vehicles throughout his life, especially his beloved Harley. Lance was always up for a road trip to North Carolina or New Hampshire to be with family and friends, to a bike party in Sturgis, Daytona or Laconia, or touring the states on a car show tour with buddies. The special smile and good cheer that Lance brought to any occasion will long be remembered and missed by many. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor, NY with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Candor. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
