Obituary of Sharon Lee Conrad

Sharon Lee "Shari" Conrad, 74, of Brooktondale, NY passed away on September 30, 2021. She was born on September 18, 1947 to Lester and Norma Conrad. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her longtime companion, Frank Dean; and brother and sister-in-law, Dannie and Elaine Conrad. She is survived by her son, David Eric Conrad; sister and brother-in-law, Pamela and Duane Austin; granddaughter, Deven N. Sober and her husband Dylan; as well as nieces, nephews and many close friends. Shari graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1965 and went on to attend the Del Kader French School of Beauty Culture in Elmira, NY graduating in 1966. Shari excelled as a Hair Dresser and became renowned in the Ithaca area, working for many years at Sheffi's Hair Salon. Throughout her youth Shari enjoyed training and performing as a dancer. She attended the Bunnie Grant Dance Studio in Ithaca/NYC and became well known for her performances in shows such as Fantasia, The Nutcracker and Peter Pan. She performed at Barton Hall and was also one the first dancers to perform on a fly wire as Tinkerbell. Shari enjoyed living a quiet and peaceful life on her family estate with her sister, sharing her time with her family and her beloved dog, Sammy, and cat, Tia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at Caroline Center Church, 719 Buffalo Road, Brooktondale, NY. Funeral services will be live streamed at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com (click on Shari's obituary). The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday at the Church. Burial will follow in Caroline Grove Cemetery, Brooktondale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shari's name to the SPCA of Tompkins County at www.spcaonline.com.
