Charles L."Charlie" Gilbert, 82, of Owego, NY, peacefully passed away on March 25, 2022. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Lynn and Naomi Gilbert. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne Gilbert; son, David Gilbert; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Nicholas Harbol; two grandchildren, Lily and Lucas Harbol; sister, Oressa Brown; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Charles was a retired LT. Colonel in the U.S. Army having served three years of active duty and over 20 years in the reserves. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Charles was a volunteer fireman and member of the Owego United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY 13827. Services will be live streamed at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com. (Click Charlie's obituary) Burial will follow in the Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Elmira, NY. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Charles Gilbert's memory to the Owego United Methodist Church, 261 Main St., Owego, NY 13827.
