Raymond E. "Ray" Matthei, 86, of Owego passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022. Ray was born in Jamaica, NY to the late Edward and Dorothy Matthei. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife 63+ years, Nancy Matthei. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and John Harvey; son, Michael Matthei; grandson, Dylan (Danielle). Ray was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired as a Senior Technical Writer with IBM. A celebration of Ray's life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Union Church, 90 North Ave., Owego with full military honors being accorded. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Condolences may be made to Ray's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
