Obituary of Louise H. Woodburn

The Matriarch of our family, Louise Woodburn, 94, of Owego, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022 surrounded by her family. Louise was born in Owego to the late Walter and Helen White Nichols. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Robert L. Woodburn; granddaughter, Hayley Marlowe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alene and Archie Short, Betty and Walt Moesch, Mary and Ed Rader, Baby sisters, Janet and Phillis Nichols. Louise is survived by her children and their spouses, Robert Woodburn and Darcy Chester, David and Reathea Woodburn, Hedy and Thomas Marlowe, Todd Woodburn, Shelly and Douglas Worthing; 13 grandchildren, Luke, Kate, Matthew, Jonathan, Tommy, Philip, Lisa, Kristopher, Sam, Sarah, Mallory, Meredith, Byron; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Nichols; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Louise and her husband Bob owned and operated Woodburn's Grocery in Owego for over 35 years. Louise was born and raised in Owego and was very community minded. She will be fondly remembered for her proud appearance, smile and her hugs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY 13827.
