Obituary of Joe Huizinga

Joe Huizinga, 81, of Candor, Our beloved husband, father and brother entered his eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thea; six sons, Henry, Theodore, Karl, Anthony, William, Kenneth; daughter, Floria; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandson; two brothers, Charles, Menne; several nieces and nephews. Joe and Thea emigrated from Holland in 1957 to raise a family and run a dairy farm. They first settled near Sussex, NJ and later moved to run their Candor Farm. His family is grateful for his life of faithful example, commitment to excellence, work ethic and faithfulness to our Lord Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Candor Congregational Church, 134 Main Street, Candor, N.Y. with the Rev. Ralph Kelsey, officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor.
