James D. Eckley, 78, of Owego, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. James was predeceased by his parents, Chester and Eloise (Kocher) Eckley; brother, Gordon Eckley. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Georgeanne Eckley; daughter, Stephanie Eckley and Michael McArthur; son, Douglas Eckley and Karen Ebert; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Sam Devan; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Brenda Eckley; sister-in-law, Patricia Eckley; several much loved nieces and nephews. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Triple Nichel) and worked for IBM and Lockheed Martin. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James D. Eckley's memory to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 8th Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018 (Hdsa.org) or the American Legion Post #0314, 381 Bridge St., Lehighton, PA 13825.
