After a brief illness, Kathryn Marie "Bah" Bergmann, of Owego, New York, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2022, at the age of 79. Kathy was born in Albany, NY on September 1, 1942. She was predeceased by her parents, James Jermaine Kirkwood and Wilhelmina (Wolfrets) Kirkwood. She is survived by her three sons, John (Pam) Bergmann, Wetumpka, Al, Craig (Karen) Bergmann, Owego NY, Robert (Tina) Bergmann, Beaufort, SC; her beloved sister, Barbara Burris Duncan, Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Nicole (Keegan Evans), Libby, CJ (Kourtney Clark), Erin, and Jenna; her nephew and nieces, Steve, Beth (Russell), Cherie, Karen; sister-in-law, Diane. And lastly, her furry companion Bella. Kathy's 40-year employment career ranged from working as a receptionist at a local Doctor's office in Owego, NY to being the secretary at the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club then on to General Electric and Ametek Aerospace as an assembler where she eventually retired. Kathy was an avid reader of novels; she loved to travel and meet new people recently going on an Alaskan cruise just a few weeks ago. Bah was her grandkids biggest fan, whether it was cheering them on during their high school sporting events or just watching them grow into young adults. She always looked forward to the annual Superbowl party and we allowed her to keep coming back even though she was a big Tom Brady admirer. Kathy made so many great friends over her lifetime starting back at Eastwood high school in Syracuse, NY (Marilyn, Nina and Paula), the friends she met living in Owego (Gloria and Rich, Joanne and Tom, Margaret and Roy, Barb and Chuck, Gary and Carol, Bill and Carol) and the friends she made at work (Nancy and Gail) and her traveling buddy (Jane) among many others. She so enjoyed visiting with her extended family, the King's, Smith's, and DiPonzio's. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Wilson Medical Center ICU and CCU as well as her Primary Physician at UHS (Dr. Balguri). In accordance with Kathy's wishes, no funeral services will be held. The family will have a celebration of life for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Stray Haven Humane Society, 184 Shepherd Rd, Waverly, NY 14892.
