Obituary of Lynn Burton Wiles

Lynn Burton Wiles, 72 of Candor, NY (formerly Tunkhannock, PA) went to reside with our Lord on July 15, 2022 after a courageous battle with Leukemia (AML). Lynn was born in Sayre, PA to John B. Wiles and Eileen Mae (Marshall) Wiles. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Lloyd and wife of 38 years, Anne-Lise Amundsen Wiles. He is survived by his brothers: Fred (Joan) Wiles, Elwin (Naomi) Wiles; sisters: Bonnie (Allan) Rohrer, Joy E. Wiles., his loving partner and caregiver Carol Fenton and his extended family in Candor, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. Lynn was a proud retired Veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably discharged after 21 years of service including a tour in Vietnam. He also retired from GTP in Towanda, PA and Elk Lake School District in PA. Lynn enjoyed playing cards and especially enjoyed shuffleboard with his friends at the Wyoming County Adult Center in Tunkhannock, PA. Local arrangements made through Estey, Munroe, and Fahey Funeral Home. Funeral services to be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 Main St RT 6, Meshoppen, PA. with the Reverend Philip Jordan, officiating. The family will receive friends & family prior to the service from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with full Military Honors immediately following the service at Overfield Cemetery, Meshoppen, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Lynn's honor to the Disabled American Veterans P.O.
