Marilyn Allen Ochs, 92 years, of Owego, New York entered into the arms of our Lord on July 18, 2022. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. In 1929, Marilyn was born in Corning, NY to Russell and Clara Allen. Growing up in Endicott, NY, she attended U-E High School and graduated 5th in her class in 1947. Despite growing up during the Great Depression, she went on to attend Albany State Teacher's College and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1951. Upon graduation, she pursued a career in teaching High School Latin, English and Spanish at Cohocton High School in Cohocton, NY. It was there where she met the love of her life, Reid Ochs. She went on to receive her Master's Degree from Geneseo. Marilyn then began teaching elementary school which was her true gift. She taught in Corning, Elmira, and eventually Owego for 40 years. Marilyn also enjoyed storytelling, being an active member of Business Professional Women's Club, teaching Sunday School, volunteering at ACT, missionary work in Zimbabwe, being a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. Marilyn valued most her relationship with God, her family, and children. She always lived life to the fullest and was always up for any adventure! Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Clara Allen; two sisters, Deborah Allen, Marjorie Willard, and lost the love of her life, Reid Ochs, in January 1969.
