Bud Woodcook, of Owego, born on February 15th, 1933 went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17th, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Bud was always a man to welcome many friends into his life. It was said of him "He never met a stranger." He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bettie; two sons, Dean (Susan) and Jay (Michelle "Mickey"); grandchildren Brandon (Kendra),Tyler (Kaity), Keaton (Amanda), Lakelyn; great-grandchildren: Adler, Pierce, and Aurora. Bud was a member of the Owego First Church of the Nazarene, since 1948, and more recently attended the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley with his wife. He worked for IBM for over 38 years. One of his greatest joys was traveling and singing with his family, "The Woodcook Family Singers", for more than 20 years. After retirement, he & Bettie enjoyed 26 years wintering in Fort Myers, Florida, where he became proficient at playing pool and winning trophies in the park tournaments. His dynamic personality was loved by all. The family will receive friends Monday, August 22, 2022 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 3732 Waverly Road, Owego, NY. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family is being assisted by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home. Condolences may be to Bud's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
