Obituary of Daniel J. Jackson

Daniel J. Jackson, 70, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Dan was predeceased by his parents, Wilbert and Ruth Jackson; two brothers and sister-in-law, Wilbert “Sonny” and Bessie Jackson, Ronald Jackson; sister, Rosetta Campbell; his first wife, Gail “Dolly” Strickland. He is survived by his six children and their spouses, Daniel and Nancy Jackson, Jr., Lisa Parrott and Tom Zacharias, Darren and Susie Jackson, Amy Bennett, James and Jessica Jackson, Justin and Tiffany Jackson; 19 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special cousin, Earl Breon; long-time friends, Raymond and Hiwana Atchison. Dan retired after 28 years of service as a Master Machinist with Borg-Warner Automotive of Ithaca. He loved country music, pickin & grinning and playing cards with his family. Dan enjoyed his last years knowing his family was all close by and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St. Owego with the Rev. Thomas Valenti, Officiating. Burial will follow in the Tioga Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
