Gene E. Kurtz, 56, of Candor, NY passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, September 11, 2022. Gene was predeceased by his father, Edward Kurtz. He is survived by his mother, Bessie Mae Kurtz; wife, Leslie Kurtz; children, Kelly Kurtz and Patrick Visconti, Katie and Amanda Chen, Morgan Kurtz and Jalen Torres; three grandchildren, Riley, Nicholas, Kyler; siblings, David and Lori Kurtz, Eddie and Lona Kurtz, Michelle Thomas and Karl Newman; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gene drove truck for many local companies and was a drummer for various local bands. He enjoyed life and will be remembered for his sense of humor and his passion for sports, especially the Buffalo Bills. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Endicott, NY.
