Obituary of V. Elaine Kravec

V. Elaine Kravec, died October 7, 2022, a couple hours short of her 100th birthday. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Diane Bowman (Dan Fisher); her granddaughter, Adrienne Bowman (Jose Navas); her niece, Maureen Kravec; her dedicated cousin, Mark Stanley, plus several other relatives too many to name. Elaine was predeceased by her husband, John Kravec. Elaine met the love of her life when she worked at Endicott-Johnson Shoe Factory in Owego, whom she married in 1944. Elaine and John were married for 59 years until he passed away in 2003. Elaine was an avid bowler who also coached junior bowlers just learning the skill. Elaine enjoyed a long life, but nothing was more rewarding for her than when she became a grandmother at age 65. Elaine lived most of her life as a "Flat Rat" from when she was in the fifth grade until she moved into Susquehanna Nursing & Rehab, in 2021. Elaine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owego and the VFW Post 1371. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in Elaine's memory.
