Obituary of Alton B. Diehl

Alton "Al" B. Diehl, 98, of Candor, NY passed away Monday, January 9, 2023. Al was predeceased by his parents, Brian and Anna Diehl; his first wife, Bertha Diehl; sister, Helen Wark. He is survived by his wife, Betty Diehl; son and daughter-in-law, David and Susan Diehl; daughter, Denise Simpson; step-son, Randy Storm and his wife, Terrie; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Al was WWII veteran who served in the Philippines as a flight transport medic and truck driver. He was very proud to serve his country. After the war, he came home to work at Endicott Johnson Shoe Co. for 12 years and IBM for 31 years. Al was a Jack-Of-All-Trades whether it was carpentry, mechanic or electrical he could fix it. He loved his antique fire trucks and military vehicles. Private graveside services will be held at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park with Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating.
