Obituary of David Richard Harders

David R. Harders, 75, of Berkshire, NY gently left us, Sunday, April 2, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. David was predeceased by his parents, Helen Irene (Hollenbeck) and Harry O. Harders; sister-in-law, Jackie Martin; niece and nephews, MariBeth Martin, Peter Martin, David Martin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ruth (Durinski) Harders; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Chris Hayes; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lori Harders; two granddaughters, Molly and Gretta Hayes; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Richard Cristaldi; brother-in-law, Mark Durinski; nieces and nephew, Anne Cristaldi, Michelle Tupaj, Ann (Martin) Robinson, Patti (Martin) Voisine, Tim Martin; dear friends, Philip Davis, Joseph Barnhart. Dave was a veteran of the U.S.Air Force having served in Vietnam. He worked as an auto body repairman/manager. Dave was a kind, gentle, generous man. He loved his family unconditionally. He was incredibly loved by his wife, children and grandchildren, who considered him their hero. He loved being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his son. Dave treasured his time in Maine with his family. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and enjoyed volunteering with church events and was considered an integral part of the weekly ACT suppers; he was an avid bowler, hunter, woodworker, gardener, and most of all enjoyed puttering! A celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, April 15th, at 10:00am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 117 Main St., Owego, NY. The family will receive friends Friday, April 14th, from 4:00-7:00pm at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
