Matthew J. Allen, 57, of Spencer, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 24, 2023, at home. Matthew was born on January 25, 1966 in Waterloo, New York. He was predeceased by his wife, Cathy Allen; his parents, Albert J. Allen and Patricia D. Butler. He is survived by his stepson, Robert G. Smith III; sister, Ardell Allen and her husband Jack; sister, Barbara Seip; sister-in-law, Bonnie Collins and her husband David; step grandchildren, Sage, William, Brice; nieces and nephews, Tait, Zachery, Kimberly, Jessica and Samuel; his great nephew, Michael.

Matthew will be remembered for his knowledge of local bands, his musical talents and his love and loyalty towards his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Matthew's care has been entrusted with Estey, Munroe and Fahey Funeral Home.
