Narda and I(Dorolyn Raftis) had been friends for over 75 years. We both lived on West Avenue and I used to go on rides with her father, Nellie many years ago. Lather after she married and lived onkMc Master St, she would fix lunch for me(I was still in school across tbe street on Main St.)
We kept in touch through out the years and I attended Pauls funeral. When I learned of Narda's illness, I would visit her in the nursing home. SHE NEVER FORGOT ME.despite her illness. I took her out of the faciility when possible for breakffasts, and out for icecream.I was there for her birthday on Sept.14 for years. I visited her around her birthday this year, and she wasn't doing well.
I came to the nursing home today to visit her for Christmas and was told she passed. I am so sorry she passed but I believe it was a blessing. I remember going to the Boys Club dances in her Pink and brown dress!.I wish I could have visited more but I live in Binghamton.
