Obituary of Nancy Sue Phillips

LITTLE RIVER - 0n November 29th the Lord welcomed home Nancy Sue Phillips (age 92), previously of Owego, NY. She lived her remaining years with her daughter and son in-law in South Carolina. She was pre-deceased by her husband L. Ben Phillips and her grandson Daniel Hall. She is survived by her sister and brother in-law Cheryl and Jim Young, daughter and son in-law Cherlynn and Mark Milicic, her son Eugene Phillips, her daughter Vicki Lynn Hall, grandsons Derek and Kyle Mantei, Landon and Christian Hall and granddaughters Lindsey Toolan and Jocelyn (Ryan) Kline, and 5 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 28, 1931. She began her singing career out of high school and toured with known Big Bands up and down the East Coast. Nancy's claim to fame was working with Dick Van Dyke in Atlanta, GA in the 1950's. She married, settled down in Owego and raised her family. Nancy was very involved volunteering in the community for many years. She loved to travel and worked in both Yellowstone and Acadia National Parks for several years and also worked at Tioga Downs and the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce. Nancy enjoyed life, worked hard, and loved her family and friends. A service will be held on January 13th at 10:30 AM to receive friends and at 11:00 AM for the service at Triumphant Life Church in Endwell NY.
