Obituary of Dale Edward White

Dale Edward White of Alpharetta, Ga passed away November 12, 2023. Dale was born Aug. 27, 1939 in Owego, NY. He was the son of the late Brewster and Irene White of Owego, NY. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Lolleen Ella Barber White, sons Mitchell and Douglas, daughter-in law Jennifer and grandson Brady. Dale spent his formative years in Owego, NY where he played football and graduated with honors from Owego Free Academy. He spent four years in the United States Army as a member of the United States Army Band. In the band, he played trombone touring Europe, entertaining thousands, as the recovery from World War II continued. He was honorably discharged, from the Army, as a Sgt E-5. He pursued his higher education earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oswego State University in Oswego, NY as well as a Masters Degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. His professional career started at Corning Community College, in Corning, NY as a teacher/administrator then moving to Chester, Va as a Dean of Instruction at Brightpoint Community College. Dale and his family moved to Florida in 1980 to pursue a Human Resource position for Defense Contractor ABA Industries. He, later moved to Atlanta, Ga where he retired from information security company Lexus Nexus. Dale's interests, outside of work, included jogging where he ran numerous 5 and 10K's culminating in running the Richmond Marathon in Richmond, Va. He enjoyed all versions of motorsports attending numerous races such as the Daytona 500 and Indy Car. He was an avid Florida State University Football fan, where his sons graduated from, and spending time with his grandson, Brady. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Dale was a great brother, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A celebration of Dale's life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
