Beatrice Acla "Bea" Hallett, 98, passed away after a long illness on June 8, 2024 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Owego, NY. Bea was born on October 8, 1925 in Candor, NY, the daughter of the late Burton and Luella (Whipple) Acla. She retired after 30 years of service from the Ithaca Gun Company. Prior to her failing health, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing card games, crossword puzzles, going out to eat and spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Hallett was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Marshall Hallett; two sisters, Peg Switzer, Anita Thomas; brother, Donald Acla; daughter-in-law, Sandra Hallett, son-in-law, Albert Ciappa, Sr.; three grandchildren, Karen Dickens, Jason Dickens, Lynn Hollenbeck. Bea is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Gary M. Hallett, Sr., Willseyville, NY, Earl J. and Patricia Hallett, Willseyville, NY; two daughters and son-in-law, Carol Ciappa, Willseyville, NY, Mary and Jacque Ludwig, Williamsburg, VA; six grandchildren, Debra Hollenbeck, Candor, NY, Gary Jr. (Marcia) Hallett, Warren Center, PA, Jeff (Holly) Hallett, Indianapolis, IN, Kristen (Dennis) Henry, Apalachin, NY, Ty (Rob) Hallett-Hutchins, Lansing, NY, Jackson (Ina) Ludwig, Germany; 10 great-grandchildren, Jordan (Matthew) Hollenbeck, Kevin (Morgan) Hollenbeck, Kelsey (Hanz) Li-Hallett, Kally (Will) Hallett, Kara (Trevor) McQuaid, Krista (Jonah) Chrispell, Kipp Hallett, Kieran Hallett, Matthew Henry, Kiera Hallett-Hutchins; two great-great-grandchildren, Freya Hollenbeck, Avander Li-Hallett; several nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family will receive friends Friday, June 14th from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, NY with the Rev. Ralph Kelsey, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Valley Cemetery, Willseyville, NY. Condolences may be made to Bea's family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
