Obituary of Charles B. Hawkins

Charles "Chuck" B. Hawkins, 69 of Owego, NY, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2024, after a brief illness. Chuck was born in Endicott, NY to the late, Earl Hawkins and Barbara (Babcock) O'Dell. Chuck is survived by his son, Eric (Kelly) Hawkins; daughter, Andrea (John) Gregory, his adoring grandchildren, Rebecca Hawkins, Dylan and Austin Gregory; brother, Steve Hawkins, sister, Bonnie Sullivan; half-brother, Keith Hawkins; two half-sisters, Cheryl Hawkins, Christina Davidson; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Chuck worked for Hadco/Sanmina in Owego, NY and retired in 2018 after 35 years. Chuck was an avid racing fan and spent many weekends at Tioga Speedway in the pits and in the stands. He enjoyed watching his granddaughter's plays and dance recitals and all his grandsons' sporting events. Chuck was a very generous man with a kind heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. The family would like to thank his care team at Upstate Medical Center for their amazing care. Chuck was extremely proud of his children's most recent appointments of son, Eric as Chief of the Owego Fire Department and his daughter, Andrea as the first female President of Owego Little League. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 25th at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Calling Hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
