Obituary of Charles Ernest Hine
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles "Chuck" Ernest Hine peacefully passed away on October 12, 2024, after a courageous five year battle with cancer. He was born on June 3, 1955 in Endicott, NY. Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Adda Mae Hine, and brother, Gary Hine. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pat (Holowiak) Hine; his daughter and son-in-law, Belinda (Hine) and Michael Whisman, his son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Erin Hine; and siblings, Sandra (Hine) Carder and Linda (Hine) Yoraschek, along with several nieces and nephews. The joys of his life were his grandchildren: Kody and Kaitlyn Floyd and Gavin and Owen Hine.
Chuck lived life through a great sense of humor, an amazing work ethic, and being outdoors. He could always be counted on for cracking a joke, "cheating" at a board game, getting a job done the right/his way, being up for a round of golf, talking everyone and anyone's ear off, spending time with his best-friend of over 60 years, Dave Renner, and just having fun whenever possible. He absolutely loved bowling - participating in many leagues and tournaments with friends and family (getting a good few 300s in there along the way). He thoroughly enjoyed coaching youth bowlers - coaching countless bowlers over the years. He literally could not resist jumping in to help someone out on the lanes. His pride when that bowler rolled a shot, and showed they "got it" filled him with so much pride; it truly made his day.
The absolute love of his life was his wife, Pat, and his family. He did and would do anything for them and loved when everyone got together. Even in the past several months, when he was not feeling well, he would still muster up all of his strength to just be with his family. His grandchildren are so blessed to have spent time with and have their lives impacted by him.
He will be dearly missed but the family he helped build is incredibly strong and are pulling together during this difficult time.
Services will be held at the Candor Fire Department Hall on November 9th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Candor Emergency Squad at www.candorems.org in his honor.
