Helen C. Watkins, 93, of Brooktondale passed away on Monday, January 30, 2013 at Beechtree Care Center in Ithaca. Helen was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Anna Czerenda; husband, Roger Watkins; brothers, Stanley, Mike, and John; and sister, Mary. She is survived by her children, Connie (Don) Bulger of Brooktondale, and Ronald Watkins of Brooktondale; brother, Adam (Amy) Czerenda of FL; sister, Annie Hover of Enfield; six grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Helen graduated in 1939 and worked for 20 years for WTKO Radio Station in Ithaca. She was a member of the Caroline Center Church, and the Slaterville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America. Helen was well known for her pigs in the blanket. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Caroline Center Church, 760 Buffalo Road, Caroline with Rev. Philip Jordan officiating and burial to follow in Cooper Cemetery in Brooktondale. Family invites friends to call from 10 to 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.
