Susan M. Ballard, 79, of Endwell, NY, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024. Susan was born in Endicott, New York to the late Girard and Rita (McLean) Gavin. Along with her parents, Susan was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Keith Ballard; brother, Stephen Gavin. Susan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Sara Ballard; granddaughter, Sheridan Ballard; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Robert McCone; sister-in-law, Toni Gavin; several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and her beloved dog, Oliver.

Susan was a lifelong member and volunteer at St. Patrick's Church of Owego. A graduate of the Mercedian School of Nursing, she worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and for many years in private practices with Dr. Brian Beach and Dr. Randolph Cooke. Susan shared her light-hearted, caring spirit with her patients and co-workers. As a believer in the mission of Mercy House of the Southern Tier, she volunteered to serve residents and their families for several years. Susan was well-known for her love of shopping, collecting antiques, and baking treats for her family. Her home was always clean, neat and organized beyond reproach. Susan's sense of humor, devotion to family, and dedication to friends will be missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 300 Main Street, Owego, NY. Private burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Owego, NY. The family will receive friends Friday, December 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY.
