Obituary of Dolores Carlson

Dolores N. Carlson, 83, of Owego passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Dolores was born in Mayville, NY to Lloyd and Ruth (LeRoy) Newark. She was predeceased by her sisters, Donna and Loretta; brother, Dale. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ronald S. Carlson; son, Michael Carlson; daughter-in-law, Madeline Carlson; granddaughter, Estie Lynn Carlson; grandson, Jarrett Lawrence Carlson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dolores graduated from Southwestern Central School, Celoron Branch in 1950. She has a career as private secretary putting her husand through college. She was a wonderful mother to Michael. Dolores was a member of Owego Jayne Cs and the Young Republican Women’s Club and Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church. When she decided she wanted to travel she and her husband saw 84 countries in all continents except Antarctica. She crossed the Equator many times rounded the Cape and the Horn. Circumnavigated the Globe, and saw all of the ancient wonders of the World. Dolores was a friend to many and loved by all. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Entombment will take place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown, NY. The family requests that in memorial contributions be made in Dolores’ memory to the Coburn Free Library, 275 Main St., Owego, NY 13827 or to an animal support group of your choosing.
