Obituary of Peter W. Derenthal

Peter Derenthal of Marrero, LA went home to the Lord at Age 56, unexpectedly on Saturday July 11 2015. Pete was born in Queens NY and grew up in Owego NY. Peter was predeceased by his father Edwin Derenthal. He is survived by his loving wife Natalia (sons Joshua and Wayne Dear Jr) and daughter Miranda Fernon of Ithaca NY and four grandchildren; Mother Catherine Derenthal of Johnson City NY; Brothers: Tom (Kathy Debari) Derenthal of Burlinton VT, Brian Derenthal of Horseheads NY, John Derenthal of New Orleans, LA; Sisters: Maureen ( Ken) Preston of Rochester NY, Anne (Wayne) Prevost of Hartford CT, Mary (Burton) Caldwell of Owego, NY and of course Kathleen Derenthal of Johnson City, NY; Nieces Sonia Preston, Lauren Prevost, Samantha Caldwell; Nephews Michael and Keith Preston, Austin Prevost, Andrew and Jason Caldwell. Peter worked for a number of years for Intralox LLC and recently as a manager in coffee distribution for Pacorini Inc. He was very well liked and respected by all. He will be remembered for his infectious optimism, positive attitude, deep generosity and great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Peter also lived for fishing and we will especially miss him on our annual get-together vacation to Fairhaven Beach State Park. He made each vacation a GREAT VACATION, every year with his can-do friendly personality. But not to forget…..Peter had a deep faith in God that kept him going. Peter…You are the greatest, we love you and we will see you in heaven. A memorial Mass will be conducted at St. Patricks Church, 300 Main St., Owego NY on Friday July 24th at 1:00 pm followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
