Thomas E. Babcock, 76, of Owego passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, December 10, 2015. Tom was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Edna Babcock; several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Joel and Teresa Babcock, Mark and Jennifer Babcock, Tracy and Tammy Babcock; seven grandchildren, Jocelyn, Aaron, Ethan, Hunter, Jordyn, Eden, Ryan; several nieces and nephews. Tom retired from the Brick Layers Union and Elmira Correctional Facility. He was affectionately known as the Bee Man, raising honey with his family was one of his great passions. Tom was a member of St. Patrick’s Church. He was an active member of our community having volunteered for the Community Care Network of Nichols, meals for the Masonic Lodge, food give aways with Catholic Charities, caretaker for Gibson Corners Cemetery and many other organizations. Tom enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting rabbits with his grandsons and beagles, deer hunting (shot a big buck this season) and trapping. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St., Owego with Deacon Michael Donovan, officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson Corners Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.
