Obituary of Cecelia A. Zendarski

Cecelia “Ceil” Zendarski, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at home. Ceil was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Anna Zarenski; and six brothers. Ceil is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard Zendarski; children, Steve Zendarski of MD, Bob Zendarski and Jan Wojcuich of Owego, Rick Zendarski and Dan Diaz of York, PA, Donna Zendarski of Endicott, and Nancy and Eric Isaminger of York PA; grandchildren, Jimmy and Bobby Isaminger, Lauren and Justin Larson, and Autumn Zendarski; and great granddaughter, Harper Isaminger. Ceil was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church where she was the past president of the Alter Rosary Society and she helped with many of the cooking activities. She had a deep love for her family and always enjoyed entertaining a houseful of people. She always enjoyed helping people, whether she knew them or not. She enjoyed quilting, bowling and her collection of angels. She was a member of the Tuesday Morning Club with many of her dear friends. She was best known for cooking with specialties being pierogis, rice pudding, and christmas cookies. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main Street, Owego with Rev. William Moorby officiating and burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Family invites friends to call on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Memorial donations may be made in Cecelia’s name to Tioga County Rural Ministry, 143 North Ave., Owego, NY 13827 or St. Patrick’s School, 309 Front St., Owego, NY 13827.
