Obituary of Ralph G. Meza

Ralph G. Meza, 91, of Owego passed away on Sunday, February 02, 2014 at Wilson Hospital. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Gonzales and Benigana Meza; and his wife, Christine Meza. Ralph is survived by his significant friend, Doris Camp; children, Carolyn Whitney of TN, Ronald Meza of Deer Park, Cathy (James) Miller of VT, Gary (Dora) Meza of TX, Linda Meza of Endicott, Christopher Meza of TN, Kimberly Meza of MA, and David (Susan) Meza of Apalachin; sister, Lee (Ruben) Flores of CA; ten grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Ralph was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corp and a POW during WWII. He was past Council Commander of the Southern Tier Counties, and council and past commander of VFW Post #1371. In 1993, he served as commander of the Ritual Team. He helped to recruit and initiate many volunteers. He retired from IBM after 29 years of service. Ralph obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M, and his Masters from the University of Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park Street, Owego with Pastor Jeremy Finn officiating. Family invites friends to call on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
