Obituary of Joyce Elaine Amberge

Joyce E. (Pitcher, Irwin) Amberge, 74, passed away February 14, 2016 at home with the love of her family and friends around her. She was predeceased by her parents, Don and Caroline Pitcher; brother, Donnie Pitcher; three children, Stephen, Andrew and Sarah Irwin. Joyce is survived by her husband of 28 years, Norman Amberge; two sons, James (Jean) Irwin, Lake Placid, FL, David (Gail) Irwin, Candor, NY; step-daughter, Robin (Jim) Kerwan, Painted Post; grandchildren, Katrina, Caroline , Benjamin, Gino, Angela, Abbygale, Jessyka, Zackary, Hillary; great-granddaughter, Sparrow ; aunt, Grace Dence; niece, Marci (Tony) Albone; brother of her heart, Stephen Pitcher; sister of her heart, Debe Dence; several cousins. Joyce retired from the Elmira Pychiatric Center. She was very community minded and volunteered with the Nichols Fire Department and EMS. She will be remembered for her love of animals and reading. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2116 at 3:00 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Lounsberry in the Spring. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
