Obituary of David J. Hill

David J. Hill, 80, of Owego died at home surrounded by family on February 28, 2016. He was born in Susquehanna County, PA in 1935 to the late Frederick and Nina McCormack Hill and served in the Navy before returning to the area to establish several business over the years including a filling station, restaurants, Dave’s Body Shop, and the Glen Mary Mobile Home Park. David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Regina; children Dave (Chris) Hill, Chuck (Mary) Hill, Mike (Debbie) Hill, Beth (Mark) Johnson, Valerie (Harry) Miller and Colleen (Joe) Sellars. Also surviving are his grandchildren Chad, Grace, Angel, Dan (Kim), Cheryl (Jay), Tina, Chris (Nancy), Amanda (Chris), Matt (Katyln), Eron, David, Ryan, Jessica, Harrison, Connor, and Chelsea; seven great-grandchildren, and his brother Fred (Lois) Hill. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his siblings Deloris (Maynard), Betty (Louie), Ruth (Vern), Yvonne (Bryce) and his beloved uncle Russell Hill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Owego at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 3 with the burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery with military honors to follow. Family will receive friends and loved ones for a Celebration of Life gathering at the Parkview Restaurant on Front St. in Owego from 5 to 8 p.m .
