Gary D. Myers, 77, of Owego passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at home. Gary was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Lucy (Williams) Myers, sister, Virginia George; two brothers and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Myers, Gordon E. Myers; infant daughter, Susan Jane Myers. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rebecca Myers; three children and their families, James D. Myers and Kelly Keating, Gregory R. Myers and Vicky Newell, Cheryl A. and James Willard; five grandchildren, Cinnamon and her husband, Ryken, Alexander, Elizabeth, Jessica, Michael; brother, Thomas L. Myers; brother-in-law, Frank A. George; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gary retired in 1994 from the Maine-Endwell Central School District, later worked for Simmons Excavating. Gary was a longtime volunteer for Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell, NY. Memorial contributions may be made in Gary D. Myers’ memory to Literacy Volunteers of Broome/Tioga Counties, Hospice at Lourdes or the Amercian Cancer Society. Condolence may be made to Gary’s family at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
