Glenn L. Wood, age 93, formerly of Owego, died at the Masonic Care Community, Utica, NY. He was born October 14, 1922 in Johnson City, NY and was the son of Frank I. and Florence L. Wood. Glenn was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Gerald, Robert, Donald, and Jack; one sister, June, and son David Arthur. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Ruth; daughter, Joan; two sons, Stephen, Thomas and his favorite daughter-in-law, Sandi; many neices and nephews; as well as step-children and step-grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army, First Infantry Division. Glenn graduated in 1940 from the Owego Free Academy. He also graduated from the Central City Business Institute of Syracuse, NY. He was a past member and Past Master of Friendship Lodge No. 153, Owego, NY, Past Master and Secretary and a 60 plus year member of the Wappingers Lodge No. 671, Wappingers Falls, NY; Past Secretary and a Perpetual Member of the Eustis Lodge No. 85, Eustis, FL. He was a member and Past Secretary and 50 year plus member of the York Rite Bodies (Eustis Chapter, No. 33, Royal Arch Masons, Golden Triangle No. 28, Royal & Select Masters, Triangle Commandery No. 38, Knights Templar) Eustis , FL. Past Parton of the Owego Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Past District Grand Lecturer of the Chemung, Schuyler, Tioga District and member of Eastern Star Chapter, Tavares, FL. He was Past High Priest of New Jerusalem Chapter No. 47, Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of Owego Council No. 30, Royal and Select Masters, Past Commander of Malta Commandery No. 21, Past Illustrious Prior and Past Secretary of Crusade Priory No. 57, Knights of the York Cross of Honor, Utica, NY, also an honorary member of the Hudson Valley Division of the Cyprus Clowns. Arrangements are by the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, Owego, NY. Burial will be in the Tioga Cemetery, Owego, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brotherhood Fund of the Grand Lodge F & A M, 73 West 23rd Street, NYC in his memory.
