Valona G. Hines, 76, of Owego, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Valona was predeceased by daughter, Michele “Shelly” Lurcock; granddaughter, Joelle Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Hines; three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Joe Robinson, Diane Hines, Christine and Scott Stica; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, James Dennis; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special Thank You to Dr. Michael Murphy for his compassionate care given to Valona. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 to 11:45 a..m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Valona Hines Memory to Joelle Robinson Scholarship Fund, C/O Tioga Central School District, 5th Avenue, Tioga Center, NY 13845.
