Obituary of Jean M. Connelly

Jean M Connelly, 90, of Owego passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L Connelly ; sisters, Barbara Padgett, Bonnie McIntyre, Dawn Langevin and brothers Roy (Cork), Donald (Shang), John, Roger (Butch) and Kenneth Swartz. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Coleen and Roger Martin of Little Meadows and Jeanne Downs-Meddaugh of Candor. A sister, Doris Teed of Owego also survives. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Pamela Mason of Mass., Jill (William) Langcaster of Tenn.; Adam (Julie) of Virginia and Charles (Shelly) Haus of Brackney, Pa. Mrs. Connelly also had five great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A very special Thank You to her great niece, Velma Wade, for always being there with love and support. Mrs. Connelly enjoyed working as a nurse’s aide most of her life, in Ideal Hospital, Riverview nursing home and then as a home health aide for Tioga County Public Health. She was the first home health aide hired for the Public Health Program. She loved mowing her lawn and shoveling her driveway . Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 14, 2016 at 10:00 at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
