Obituary of Mary Emma Doucett

Mary E. Doucett, 98, of Candor passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Mary was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Lucy VanDerPool; step-mother, Grace VanDerPool; husband, George Doucett; son, Alfred Doucett; daughter, Agnes Doucett; sister, Arta Swansbrough; brother, James VanDerPool; son-in-law, Ronald Belodeau. She is survived by her three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Belodeau, Sharon and William Morrow, Phyllis and Roger Townsend; two sons and three daughters-in-law, James and Stephanie Doucett, Russell and Cheryl Doucett, Yvonne Doucett; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; four sisters and brother-in-law, Julia Johnson, Lucy Norris, Rena Walters, Alice and William Hollenbeck; brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Shirley VanDerPool; several nieces and nephews. Mary was an active community member having belonged to the Caroline Center Church, Newfield and Candor Senior Citizens, Ithaca VFW, Candor American Legion Auxiliary and past member of the Eagles. PLEASE NOTE: Funeral services rescheduled for Friday, March 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor, NY with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Valley Cemetery. The family will received friends Monday Evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
