Obituary of Jean L. Ford

Jean Louise Ford, 89, of Owego passed away peacefully at the Susquehanna Nursing Home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.  Jean was a resident of Owego for all of her adult life, sharing a home with her husband of 66 years, James L. Ford., who predeceased her in 2014.  Along with Jim, she was predeceased by her parents, Lynn and Edith Russell; two sisters, Dorothy and Barbara.  Jean is survived by her twin sister, Jane Cornett; four children, Sharon, Winterhaven, FL, Vickie, Vestal, NY, James, Owego, William, Burlington, NC; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.  Jean was a homemaker who took geat pride in the keeping of the Ford House and gardens.  She was very talented at knitting and sewing her own clothing.  Jean worked part-time for many years at IBM, Owego, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Tioga County Board of Elections.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Owego, NY.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
