Jerald L. Marsh, 76, of Newark Valley, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Harold Marsh and Lillian Aloi; three brothers, Dick Settle, Don Marsh, Bob Marsh. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sara Marsh; son and daughter-in-law, Jason E. and Meg Marsh; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Darrell Reynolds; daughter, Kristin Cleary; six grandchildren, June, Maggie, Benjamin, Lily, Tyler, Kaleigh; sister, Bonnie Marsh McLaud; sisters-in-law, Maryanne Settle, Helen Marsh, Ann Marsh, Ruia Lewis; several nieces and nephews; life-long friends, Charles and Sharon Yaple. Jerry retired as a Major in the U.S. Air Force having served as a Special Agent for the Office of Special Investigations. He worked at Link Flight Simulation Corp. in Binghamton for 15 years. Jerry was very community minded and was a member of the Newark Valley Historical Society, served as Deputy Historian for the Newark Valley Historical Office, belonged to the Civil War Round Table; Inducted to Sect. 4 Hall of Fame and was Newark Valley Citizen of the Year. He is the published author of The Brotherhood of Battle: The Civil War Soldiers and Families of Newark Valley, New York. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego. Burial will follow with full military honors at the Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
