Obituary of Esther J. Warner
Esther "Gram" Warner
Some called her Esther, some Mrs. Warner but most just called her Gram. Esther J. Warner, 94, of Vestal was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Predeceased by her husband, Robert "Tata" Warner in 1986. Gram is survived by her son, Lloyd Warner; daughter Anna Marini; grandchildren, Vicki, Ernie (Tonya), Bobby (Penny), Dominic, Bernadette (Craig), Dale, Robbie, Cheryl (Mike), Michael (Susan); great-grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Alexis, Alex, Savana, Shye (Josh), Shaun (Ashley), Jessi (Kevin), Jaki (Paul); great-great grandchildren, Jakob, Reilly, Isabella, "The angel of her heart" Taylor, her "handsome boy", Tanner and "sweet baby" Harper; sister-in-law Grace (Hank) Thomas; several nieces, nephews and close friends. Gram helped raise many generations of children as if they were her own and created a legacy that will last far into the future. Gram loved to cook and will be remembered for her delicious halupki. She started Gram's Hot Lunch for the employee's of Health Now to which she fed many on a weekly basis out of her passion for cooking. Gram was an avid game player, especially Bingo, and diehard N.Y. Yankee's fan. At age 70 she took her first airplane ride to visit extended family in Mrytle Beach, which became her favorite vacation spot. Gram was a member of the Assembly of God Church, was a member of VFW Post #1317 Auxilary and was the Head of Resident Council at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Gram loved the Lord and was known for having nine lives as she was the recipient of many healing miracles in her lifetime until God finally called His servant home. She had a courageous spirit. Giving up was never an option no matter what her age was or limitations. Gram will always be on our minds and forever in our hearts. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her favorite physician, Dr. Thomas J. Oven, Dr. Kristen Robillard and Nurse Heather, 1 Ross West at Lourdes Hospital and the entire staff at Vestal Park both past and present, especially, Mark Scalise. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10 AM at Calvary's Love Owego Church, 84 Thorn Hollow Road, Owego, NY with Pastors Shawn Monclova and Robert Perkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Glen Castle Cemetery, Castle Creek, NY. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Gram's memory to the Activities Department at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 105 Sheedy Rd in Vestal, NY.
