Obituary of Joseph William Kuchinski, Sr.

Joseph W. Kuchinski, Sr., 87, of Owego, NY  passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Syracuse, New York.  Mr. Kuchinski is survived by his wife of 61 years, Florence; three sons, Joseph, Jr. and Lora Kuchinski, David Kuchinski, James and Jodie Kuchinski; eight grandchildren, Andrea, Samantha, Joseph, Michael, Luke, Josh, Amanda, and Ashley; two siblings, Chester Kent and Bernadine Kuchinski; several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Kuchinski was a Korean War veteran who flew 27 missions over Korea as a B-29 Communications and EW Operator. He graduated from Penn State University and retired from IBM as a Quality Engineering Manager after 32 years.  Joe retired to Columbia, Tennessee and was member of BPOE #1039, VFW Post#1371 and American Legion Post #401.  He played professional baseball in the Detroit Farm System and enjoyed golfing and listening to country music.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 15 Park St., Owego, NY with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 300 Main St., Owego, NY.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Wilkes Barre, PA at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made in Memory of Joseph W.
