Obituary of Julia Marie Harris

Julia Marie Harris, 56, of Candor passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at home with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Kern, Sr.; and brother, Art Kern, Jr. Julia is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James Harris; mother, Julia Kern; children, Jennifer (Osbert) Cato of FL, Justin (Sarah) Harris of VA, Jeffery (Keishelle) Harris of Candor, and Janet (Matthew) Beckwith of Candor; brothers, Robert (Evonne) Kern of Willseyville, and Paul Kern of Denver; sister, Rose (Randy) Blinn of Candor; sister-in-law, Barb Kern; grandchildren, Azlyn, Brelyn, Owen, Bradley, Autumn, Irelan, and another on the way; Father and mother-in-law, David and Ellen Harris; her loving extended in-law family; and her nieces and nephews who she thoroughly enjoyed. Julie worked as a secretary for many years at Chase Bank in Ithaca. She loved the town of Candor and was committed to community involvement and service. She volunteered many hours at CCS in both academic and sports programs. She sang in the Candor Community Chorus and her beloved church community. She inspired many with her strength. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church, 24 Rock St., Newark Valley with Rev. William Moorby Officiating. Family invites friends to call on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 1 to 3 PM at Estey, Munroe & Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main St., Candor. Memorial donations may be made in Julie’s name to Candor Emergency Squad or Candor Fire Department.
