We did not know the day nor the hour that God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
To Gerald & Betty Turner and the entire bereaved family of the LATE MS. DOROTHY E. ARRRINGTON
Dear family, we know that it’s hard to accept the death of your beloved, Dorothy. We know that she has a left a void in your hearts. As people of faith, we believe that God does all things well. God’s plan is indeed sovereign and perfect. 1 Thessalonians 4:13 says “We do not want you to be uninformed brothers and sisters about those who have died, so that you may not grieve as those who have no hope.”
As you struggle together through this moment of separation, loss and grief, we are praying that God’s loving arms will give you the strength you need to go on. We encourage you to look unto Jesus for comfort, strength and emotional healing. Please continue to reflect on the good times that you’ve shared with her and hold those precious memories in your heart. We know that you and your family will miss Dorothy, and her wealth of wisdom and love that she demonstrated toward her family. Please be aware that you can keep her memory alive by the ways you care for one another during this difficult time. During times of difficulty, we encourage you to hold to God’s unchanging hand. God’s righteous right hand is more than able to guide, comfort and keep you in perfect peace. God said in His Word, “He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Family, please be aware that God is with you, even now.
Family, your friends at Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will continue to place you and your family before the Cross of our Lord, and believe that in time, hope and comfort will come your way. Please remember that you’re never alone. God is still with you, your family is with you, and the Church is with you too. We’re just a phone call away.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. May the Lord comfort you with His peace, surround you with His love, and encourage you with His presence today and in the minutes, hours and days ahead.
Prayerfully submitted by Centennial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
