Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Lupold

Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Lupold went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2020, at the age of 98. She was most recently a resident of Riverview Manor in Owego and lived many years in Candor. She was born the youngest of eleven children on January 20, 1922 to her parents, Orin A and Anastasia (Rafferty) Wilbur, in Montrose, PA. She was predeceased by: two husbands, Raymond L Chilson and Rufus L Lupold; and one grandson Jason Paxson. Betty was a very caring, charitable and forgiving person that always had time to listen to others. She was a homemaker for many years. She, also, worked as a secretary at Endicott-Johnson and nurse's aide at Ideal Hospital and several other healthcare facilities. She is survived by: two sons and a daughter; Raymond (Elaine) Chilson; Richard (Deborah) Chilson; and Anna (David) Shaylor. Seven grandchildren: Michelle Paxson; Col. Sarah (Ret. Capt. Tony Cuciti); Maj. Carrie Chilson; Sean Chilson; David (Ali) Shaylor; Chad Shaylor; and Celene (Sean) Dibble. Fifteen great-grandchildren: Nicholas Medovich; Michael Krise; Brittany Krise; Heather Krise; Alyssa Foote; Isaiah Foote; Bella Foote; Christopher Foote; Amalia Cuciti; Jasper Chilson; Mateah Shaylor; Christjin Shaylor; Aroura Shaylor; Haile Shaylor; and Alyshiea Shaylor. Two great-great- grandchildren: Stephanie and Giovanni Krise. A memorial service is tentatively set for 1:00PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Estey Monroe and Fahey Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Candor, NY with the Rev. Phil Jordan, officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Valley Cemetery, Willseyville, NY. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until 12:45 PM. prior to services at the funeral home.
