Whenever I thought about Ruth Ann over the years, some special memories came into focus. One would be the days spent at the Wiley home in Myerstown - usually Christmas and any sunny holiday that enabled Uncle Jim to barbecue, with all of "us cousins" eagerly awaiting the feast. Another - her picture as "Poultry Queen" in the Lebanon paper. Such a radiant smile! My last time face-to-face, was years ago at one of her post-Thanksgiving reunion/feasts. It was there that I finally "got" Ruth Ann Wiley - Smith in the roles she thrived in - and obviously cherished: Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Cousin, Friend - to so many. Her inner strength sustained her through trials at which most would fail. It is for for souls like Ruth Ann's that the phrase "Heaven is a better place now" was coined. Ruth Ann, we love you and miss you here, but yearn, to hope to earn, the chance to be with you again in the heavenly kingdom promised to all believers. I pray that God gives you the rewards you deserve. Cousin Don Whipple
