I met Patty when she was advocating and loving her sister Nancy through her battle with breast cancer. She was also a faithful attendee of the survivorship group that I facilitated at the time. We quickly became friends as I admired her devotion to Nancy, Unfortunately she needed to be that advocate again for her significant other Mark Zimmerman through his struggle with lung cancer. Patty was always “the caregiver” taking loving care of her mother Joyce during her aging years and health decline as well. Patty was a fierce warrior for breast cancer as she and her tribe of Patty’s petals attended multiple breast cancer walks both locally and the Susan B. Komen event in Vermont. Patty loved her friends and baked us delicious treats. We enjoyed dinners out and supporting the silver lake fire department by attending the “BOB” event annually. Patty loved her lake property and taking amazing pictures of the glorious sunsets. I was honored to be Pattys advocate during her battle with cancer. She was little but mighty! She knew exactly what she wanted! You never ended a phone conversation without those precious words : “See ya, love ya, bye”. I will miss those words! Well my friend… until we meet again… “See you, love you, bye…”
